Nothing has\u00a0surprised\u00a0me more since starting this blog than the\u00a0amount\u00a0of email I get from readers. \u00a0I never really expected much feedback and I’m always happy when I get it. \u00a0I have noticed somewhat of a disturbing trend in my emails. \u00a0Here is a recent one.<\/p>\n

While I\u00a0absolutely\u00a0love getting feedback from the people who enjoy my work, I’m going to have to ask for comments like these to stop. Poor grammar and spelling aside this email is part of a disturbing trend I see. \u00a0You see this particular reader is complaining because my stories aren’t\u00a0stereotypical\u00a0enough.<\/p>\n

Those of you that follow me on twitter will be\u00a0laughing\u00a0even harder at the fact that he single Mr.Chien from my A Day at the Office<\/span><\/a> Series as “not asian”, because Mr.Chien<\/span><\/a> is an actual human being<\/span><\/a> and quite Asian. I wonder why is it that this reader felt that Mr.Chien’s persona in the A Day in the Office stories were some how “White” and not “Asian” ? \u00a0How can these things be defined?<\/p>\n

Would Mr.Chien be a more believable Asian if instead of a\u00a0software\u00a0engineer and businessman he was a rice farmer? Instead of getting it on with his flexible intern should he be playing the violin? Does he seem less Asian because his village isn’t on fire?When its all boiled down these types of comments are really saying, that the race of the characters in any story should be dictated by how exotic, alien or problematic they are.<\/p>\n

Why should “regular”\u00a0interracial\u00a0erotica have to be just Black and White? These comments are really more telling of the readers issues with Asian and Asian Americans than my actual writing. \u00a0All this person is saying is “I’m uncomfortable with a\u00a0depiction\u00a0of Asian men as masculine and desirable.”<\/p>\n

There is nothing\u00a0innately\u00a0White about a sexually desirable man. \u00a0I also refuse to write the shortsighted racist erotica that compelled me to start writing in the\u00a0first\u00a0place. \u00a0My personal problem with a lot of the\u00a0interracial\u00a0erotica being published in print and the web is the\u00a0instance\u00a0that a person’s race will dictate the majority of\u00a0their\u00a0thoughts and actions. \u00a0This isn’t Mass Effect and the real world does not work that way. \u00a0I think its just a lazy bigoted way to write and I refuse.<\/p>\n

While I’m talking about mind boggling comments I just wanted to share a very special comment I\u00a0received\u00a0on Literotica for .<\/p>\n

That’s right this dude claims a college educated stripper is just too much for him to accept. This is a perfect example of a bullshit comment \u00a0and the exact opposite of\u00a0constructive\u00a0criticism. You see this guy has a\u00a0preconceived\u00a0notion that all exotic dancers are\u00a0uneducated\u00a0dullards,\u00a0instead of reading the story and going “oh this character \u00a0is an\u00a0individual, and perhaps I’ve had my head up my ass,” \u00a0he says there’s something wrong with the story.<\/p>\n

Kind of in the same\u00a0vein\u00a0as the\u00a0first\u00a0email, someone complaining that my writing takes them out of\u00a0their\u00a0comfort zone of\u00a0stereotyping\u00a0people. \u00a0Please stop doing this people. This is going to be the first and last time I\u00a0address\u00a0emails and comments like these on BlasianBytch.com. Those of you that have emailed me know that I respond to every email I\u00a0receive, but I’m not going to acknowledge or respond to these anymore.<\/p>\n

I want to learn and grow as a writer, comments like these are not\u00a0conducive\u00a0to that so I feel justified in ignoring them. I encourage anyone esle with questions , or concerns even complaints to email me. Just please before you write that comment or email think if you are complaining about my writing or are you angry your\u00a0biases\u00a0aren’t being validated by my posts or stories.<\/p>\n
